Pineapple flowers are beautiful and look just like real flowers, only you can eat these lovely, sweet treats! So if you are looking for an amazing, gorgeous and super simple…did I mention delicious…treat that is a beautiful to look at, as it is to indulge in?
Wondering whether or not your pineapple is ripe? Try and pull out one of the center leaves. Does it come out easily? Then it is ready to enjoy! Make sure to keep it in the fridge once it is ripe so that it will not get over-ripe.
1 fresh pineapple
Peel the pineapple and remove the eyes with a small melon baler or the tip of a potato peeler. Alternatively…you could also just peel the pineapple thickly enough so that the eyes are no longer visible.
Lay the pineapple on its side and carefully slice flowers 1/8 of an inch thick.
Place slices directly on dehydrator sheets and dehydrate at 115 degrees for 6 – 8 hours.
Serve with Hawaiian Pie as a beautiful garnish…or just enjoy as is. They will keep in a sealed container for several weeks.
